The first pair of hiking boots I ever purchased were Vasque Clarions, way back in the 1990’s (and I still use them today). What I love about them, is everything that made them one of Vasque’s landmark hiking boots – lightweight, flexible fabric and leather construction – and they come in wide widths that make them a perfect fit for my foot. My Clarions have taken me on trails through such diverse National Parks as Bryce Canyon, the Grand Canyon, and Acadia, sections of the Applachian Trail and also too many local trails to mention.

Over 30 years before I purchased my Clarions, William Sweasy was travelling across Europe and discovered the latest craze – hiking and mountianeering. Being very forward thinking, he realized that it wouldn’t be long before these outdoor activities caught on in America, so he immediately began designing the highest quality hiking and mountaineering boots. Then in 1971, taking inspiration from Fort Vasquez high in the mountain mecca of Colorado, Vasque was born.

Always keeping an eye to the future, over the years Vasque has continued to partner with other leading manufacturers to bring innovative materials and designs to their hiking boots. Today, Vasque continues to focus on the trail ahead, breaking new ground with every step.
